Peter Savagian leads engineering at Ampaire. He recently joined a startup that is electrifying aviation. He is working to establish, leverage and tailor electrified technologies across industries and to develop essential new technologies as they focus on practical and compelling electrified aircraft. Prior to Ampaire, Peter was SVP of engineering at Faraday Future, a large scale automotive EV start-up. Peter oversaw the technical development of the FF91 Beta-level performance vehicles and the FF91 Gamma-level (pre-production) vehicles. Before Faraday Future, Peter was a Chief Engineer and then General Director at GM. He was responsible for Electrification Systems engineering and Electric Drives product development. He was also responsible for technology development and key internal IP and supply chain strategy. This work brought electrification to automobiles and involved several innovations in architecture, hardware, software systems, new development systems, and new integration methods. Notably, Peter's work resulted in the first modern Electric Vehicle - the GM EV1, the first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle - the Chevrolet Volt, and several other pioneering HEVs, PHEVs, and EVs.
